Tree Base Work

Root damage can be caused by a tree being planted too deeply or the soil grade being raised after its planting.

Base-work/root flair exposure

If you cannot see the natural root or trunk flare of your trees above the surface of the soil, it may be time for a certified arborist to inspect this condition.

Many trees have unfortunately been either planted too deeply or had soil grades raised over their root systems.

When the natural root or trunk flare is not visible above the surface of the soil, it will in time cause trunk decay, girdling (or choking) of the roots, and many other health problems as the tree matures.

We use a high-pressure air tool to remove this excess soil.

We carefully expose any trunk decay and remove girdling roots to prolong the life of your trees.
